Romanian film director Lucian Pintilie passed away on May 16th 2018.

He directed some of the greatest masterpieces of Romanian cinema, such as Next Stop Paradise (Venice 1998, Grand Special Jury Prize), Too Late (Cannes 1996, Competition), An Unforgetable Summer (Cannes 1994, Competition) and The Oak (European Film Award 1993, Best Actress).
