Carla Simón wins the Golden Bear at Berlinale for her second film ALCARRÀS, produced by Elastica, Avalon, Vilaüt Films and Kino Produzioni.
In Berlin, M. Night Shyamalan, President of the Jury, said the Jury awarded ALCARRÀS “for its extraordinary performances – from the child actors to the actors in their eighties – for the ability to show the tenderness and comedy of family as well as the struggle, and for the portrayal of our connection and dependence to the land around us.”
This major award comes five years after her popular breakthrough SUMMER 1993, which received the Best First Film Award and Generation Kplus Grand Prix in Berlin, before winning 3 Goyas and being chosen as the Spanish contenders for the Oscars in 2017.
Congratulations to her and to the whole film team!
