Lyon, October 13, 2025 — The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) has presented its first-ever Legacy Award to Sabine Azéma and Pierre Arditi, celebrating their contributions to cinema and their enduring collaboration with Alain Resnais.
“This first award honors Alain Resnais’s landmark film LOVE UNTO DEATH (1984) for its powerful artistic impact, further enhanced by this restored version. The prize was presented to Sabine Azéma and Pierre Arditi, longtime collaborators of Alain Resnais, who have contributed magnificently to his films through their exceptional acting talent.” — The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI)
The award was presented on the occasion of the newly 4K restored version of Alain Resnais’ LOVE UNTO DEATH (1984), premiered at the Lumière Festival.
The ceremony took place on Monday, October 13, at the Institut Lumière, where Isabelle Danel, Honorary President of FIPRESCI, handed the award to Sabine Azéma and Pierre Arditi in the presence of Thierry Frémaux.
