Agnès Varda has always been a fascinating storyteller. In an unpredictable documentary, from rue Daguerre in Paris to Los Angeles and Beijing, she tells in a light and exquisite way about her own experience as a director, bringing a very personal insight on what she calls “cine-writing”.
Looking back on a career which brought her to receiving an Honorary Oscar in 2017, Agnès Varda wishes to inspire a desire for filmmaking in this one-of-a-kind masterclass featuring some special guests.
Co-director Didier Rouget has been a close collaborator to Agnès Varda from Jacquot (1991) and up to Faces Places (2017).
“Agnès Varda says curiosity and desire to create are endless and very catching. This new project really is about transmission”, explains Rosalie Varda, daughter of Agnès and producer of the documentary.
“mk2 films proudly represents Agnès Varda’s body of work worldwide, says Juliette Schrameck, Managing Director of mk2 films. This new documentary, which is also a very unique and personal masterclass, gives her own vision of her art and will certainly fascinate all the cinema lovers in the world.”
