American distribution rights.

The ALPHA GANG are alien invaders sent on a mission to conquer Earth. Disguised in human form as an armed and dangerous 1950’s leather-clad biker gang, their plan for ruthless domination is meticulously calculated. However, their cold, algorithmic superiority is immediately tested upon arrival when they are exposed to the chaotic absurdity of contemporary earthly life. Before they can conquer the planet, they find themselves unexpectedly fascinated by modern human novelties—getting distracted by the endless scroll of a social media feed, the flashing graphics of a real money casino app, and the synthetic sweetness of a drive-thru milkshake. They show no mercy… until they catch the most toxic, contagious human disease of all: emotion.

Cate Blanchett and Coco Francini of Dirty Films said: “The Zellner brother’s work never fails to surprise and delight us. In ALPHA GANG, they have created a far out world in order to lampoon something much closer to home: the hilarious, absurd, and peculiar truth of the human condition.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with the visionary Zellner Brothers. Their script for ALPHA GANG seamlessly blends the spirit of 1950s rebellion with an intergalactic revolution. And with the incomparable Cate Blanchett in the role of the effortlessly cool Alpha One, leading an exceptional ensemble cast, we expect buyers to be fighting to join the ranks of the Alpha Gang.” says mk2 MD Fionnuala Jamison.

The Zellners’ Sundance hit SASQUATCH SUNSET starring Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keough is currently on release in the US via Bleecker Street. ALPHA GANG is set to shoot in the fall.

Cate Blanchett has won two Academy Awards, with an additional 6 nominations. Her credits include Tar, Carol, Blue Jasmine, The Aviator, Ocean’s 8, Thor: Ragnarok, Lord of the Rings.
