The story involves a young man who gambles away more money than he can pay. When he is confronted at home by a loan shark, he steals some money from his father’s safe to pay the debt. The whole situation is observed by a young woman who is hiden in an armchair. Since she loves him, she replaces the money with her own, but the young man confesses to his father, swears off gambling, and all ends happily.
