PIXOTE

A film by Hector BABENCO

1980 / Brazil / 128’ / Color / status : completed

For 11–year old Pixote and the other children on the street, there is no sanctuary from the adults they encounter on either side of the law, as they are used as pawns in criminal acts. After being placed in a juvenile reformatory, Pixote witnesses one brutality after another, and his situation only worsens after he escapes, leaving him with no other option than to try to survive through a life of crime.
