The documentary chronicles the transfer of Amílcar Cabral’s remains from Conakry to Bissau in 1976. Featuring Guinean music and archival footage of Cabral during the guerrilla war, it pays tribute to the political thinker and freedom fighter while encouraging the Guinean diaspora to return to their liberated homeland.

Restored by The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project and Cineteca di Bologna at L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory in association with Cooperativa de Produçao Cinematografica e Audiovisual GEBA FILMES.

This restoration is part of the African Film Heritage Project, an initiative created by The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project, the Pan African Federation of Filmmakers and UNESCO – in collaboration with Cineteca di Bologna – to help locate, restore, and disseminate African cinema.
