Ehud Barak (Israeli Chief Minister of Defence from 2007 to 2013) recounts the ‘surgical precision’ required to exercise the professions of Chief of Staff and Minister of Defence of the State of Israel. When asked about the possibility of peace in the future, he stressed the importance of remaining hopeful, and referred to the national anthem of the State of Israel: “Hatikvah”, meaning hope.

Ehud Barak, Chief of Staff, then Minister of Defence, granted Claude Lanzmann this exclusive interview on the first March 2008.
