After marrying Kishore during a visit to a neighboring village, Basanti is kidnapped while on the river. Upon her recovery, she suffers from amnesia, remembering only the name of Kishore’s village but not his identity or appearance.
Restored in 2010 by Cineteca di Bologna /L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory, in association with Ritwik Memorial Trust, the National Film Archive of India, and The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project.
