Two young girls, Gyöngyi and Vica, make a daring escape from their humble village to seek a new life in the bustling streets of Budapest. Their unexpected encounter in the city sparks a chain of events that dramatically alter the course of their lives.

 

Restored in 2010 by Cineteca di Bologna/L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory, in association with The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project and Magyar Nemzeti Filmarchívum. Restoration funded by Armani, Cartier, Qatar Airways and Qatar Museum Authority.
