After having created two series in black and white, Flip the Frog and Willy Whopper, Ub Iwerks launches the Comicolor series in 1933. Due to Disney owning the exclusive rights to trichrome Technicolor until late 1935, the first films were shot in Cinecolor, a bichrome colour process that made use of only red and green.
