1927 / Etats-Unis / original title : ALICE / 31 x 10’ / status : completed / short film / French catalog
After an initial series entitled Laugh-O-grams, Disney and his team launched the Alice series in 1924, recounting the adventures of a little girl in the flesh in the land of the Toons. Over three years, three Alices played the title role in succession: Virginia Davis, Margie May and Lois Hardwick.
As always, Disney was surrounded by the best animators of the time: Ub Iwerks, Hugh Harman, Friz Freleng, Rudolph Ising… It was so successful that most of the episodes were re-released at the start of the talking era with a synchronised soundtrack.
