Having been absent from screens worldwide since 1985, Four Nights of a Dreamer<\/em><\/a> is set to make a return to global cinema theatres in 2024. Presented in Competition at Berlin in 1971 (Ecumenical Jury Prize), the tenth film by the influential director of Mouchette<\/em>, Au Hasard Balthazar<\/em>, and Pickpocket<\/em> <\/a>is regarded by cinephiles worldwide as his most personal work and arguably the most accessible.<\/p>\n

An exhilarating and poetic variation on love, inspired by Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel White Nights and transposed into the magical current setting of Parisian nights, Four Nights of a Dreamer<\/em> features a meeting on the Pont Neuf between a dreamy young man and a distraught young woman who will confide in each other over four nights.<\/p>\n

Under the supervision of Myl\u00e8ne Bresson, Four Nights of a Dreamer<\/em> is being restored by mk2 Films at \u00c9clair Classics (Paris) and L.E. Diapason, with the support of the Centre national du cin\u00e9ma et de l\u2019image anim\u00e9e (CNC). The new 4K master will be available in spring.<\/p>\n

In 2023, the Paris-based international film sales company notably represented Justine Triet’s Palme d’Or winner Anatomy of a Fall<\/em><\/a> and won the Best Restored Film award at the Venice Film Festival for Shinji Somai\u2019s Moving<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
