The Looney Tunes series produced by Warner wanted to be Disney’s Silly Symphonies great rival. Much like Merry Melodies, their films started out being based on famous songs. Later they became the meeting point for Warner’s great stars: Porky, Daffy, Elmer and Bugs Bunny. The episodes were produced in black and white until 1942.
